Amir-Reza Heidari, known as "Sam," born on 8 April 1997 (19 Farvardin 1376), was a 28-year-old young man living in Tehran. He worked as a barista while also trading cryptocurrency. He was the only son in his family and had one sister. Those close to him describe him as a kind, good-natured, and energetic youth—someone whose smile remains vivid in the memories of everyone around him. Sam loved life and held many dreams for his future. After his death, one of his loved ones wrote for him: "You were so full of life, you had so many beautiful dreams, you had such a big, kind heart." These few sentences paint a picture of a young man who, at twenty-eight, saw a full life and a long future lying ahead of him. On 8 January 2026 (18 Dey 1404), following calls for widespread public demonstrations, protests expanded across Tehran and many other cities in Iran. Amir-Reza went to Narmak and Haft-Hoz Square, where large crowds of protesters filled the streets and Islamic Republic forces opened fire on the people. Amir-Reza was shot directly from behind in the lower back. He was taken to Al-Ghadir Hospital, but despite the efforts of medical staff, he passed away on the evening of 9 January 2026…
