Omid Azimi, born on 11 February 1999 (22 Bahman 1377), was only 26 years old. He lost his father at the age of 10 and from those years onward, grew up alongside his mother and sister. Omid was the sole pillar of his family; a young man whose love and responsibility towards his mother and sister formed a significant part of his life. He was a skilled hairdresser, and his clients and friends knew him for his pleasant demeanor, kindness, and sociable spirit. His loved ones say Omid was a brave and fearless young man who always wished for the people of Iran to pave the way for freedom through unity. He had a special interest in sports and motorcycling and lived his life with energy and hope for the future. According to information received by Iran International, Omid Azimi, on 9 January (19 Dey), after leaving the club, headed to the street following Prince Reza Pahlavi's call to participate in a protest gathering. Hours later, simultaneously with the sudden disruption of mobile phone signals, his communication with his family and friends was cut off.
