Maryam Ferdowsi Golestani, a 46-year-old woman and mother of two children, lost her life during the popular protests in Isfahan. In January 2026 (Dey 1404), she was directly shot by security forces on Borazandeh Street. Maryam was a woman who had balanced her life between caring for her children and striving to preserve her family. She was a calm and steadfast mother who, despite all pressures, endeavored to provide a safe and hopeful environment for her two children. Her death on Borazandeh Street dealt a sudden blow to their small home. Two children who must now carry on their lives without her and face a heavy void. A week after the incident, Maryam's body was found in Bagh-e Rezvan Cemetery in Isfahan (Section 85, Garden 3, Row 18) and laid to rest. Her fortieth-day ceremony was also held with a widespread public presence at the cemetery. That day, the gathering of people showed that this death had been personal and painful for many. Maryam was an ordinary individual who came to the street on the day of protest. Her death on Borazandeh Street is part of the story of women who lost their lives amidst the protests without their names being prominently etched in history.
